Black Friday 2018 is counting down fast and some of the most impressive deals come from Best Buy’s 52-page Black Friday ad.
On the surface, it has tempting savings on iPhones, Galaxy phones, the PS4, Xbox One, HDTVs and much more. But dig deeper and you will find not everything is as it seems. Just like Walmart’s problematic deals, Best Buy’s ad is hiding a number of nasty surprises.
This is the second article in my Black Friday ‘Nasty Surprise’ series. Working in conjunction with BestBlackFriday.com, I am highlighting the potential pitfalls in each major Black Friday ad.
This includes Target’s 47-pager and Walmart’s 32-pager plus deals from popular merchants such as Costco, Kohl’s and Amazon. You can read my Walmart Nasty Surprises guide here.
As detailed on page 5 of the Best Buy Black Friday ad, the store will open at 5pm on Thanksgiving and close at 1am on Black Friday. It will then reopen at 8am on Friday morning for another round of doorbusters.
For those hours are just not competitive. You will find longer opening hours from Target (details), Kohl’s (details) and Macy’s (details), though Walmart is even worse. are all open
Shipping Time – As it always does, Best Buy is offering free standard shipping with no minimum on everything this holiday season. But the competition has moved on.
Target has free two-day shipping on all orders with no minimum, Walmart has free two-day shipping for orders of $35 or more and, while Amazon matches Best Buy, a free Amazon Prime trial gives you free two-day shipping on every order.
