Roy Thomas Hello with Stan Lee

Roy Thomas about to celebrate his 78th birthday, was Stan Lee‘s first successor as editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics, twenty years his junior. He is possibly best known for introducing Conan the Barbarian to comics, championing the Justice Society of America and writing X-Men and The Avengers, and All-Star Squadron.

This weekend, he reunited with his old boss, at Stan’s home in Beverley Hills, accompanied by Brooklyn comic book and toy dealer John Cimino. And Cimino shared a photo of the meeting with Bleeding Cool.

Cimino is best known for uncovering a possible inspiration for the look, and name, of Spider-Man – and certainly the first piece of Marvel approved merchandise.
